The Human Body: A Case-by-Case Exploration
June 16-20, 2009
The University of Findlay is hosting a five-day Summer Honors Institute to provide opportunities for gifted students in Ohio. The students will engage in-depth study of topics related to human body systems, health and wellness. The Summer Honors Institute will be held at The University of Findlay from June 16-20, 2009 with check-in on Monday, June 15th at 7pm.
What is involved?
Participants will be involved in at least 25 hours during the week exploring patient cases that provide a framework for the study of gross anatomy and human physiology through lecture, human cadaver dissection, and laboratory interventions and tests. The hands-on laboratory activities allow students to become more familiar with the fields of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy professions.
Who is Eligible?
Students who are Ohio residents, meet the criteria for identification as a gifted student (as described in Ohio Administrative Code 3301-51-15), and have completed 9th or 10th grade are eligible to apply.
How do I enroll and locate forms?
Enrollment in the Summer Honors Institute is limited to 25 commuter and/or residential students. Eligible participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis. To be considered for participation, application forms should be submitted by April 3, 2009. Applications received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis. Enrollment is limited and participants who apply by April 3rd will be notified of their acceptance status by April 24th, 2009.
