Work and Internship Opportunities
You may be interested in working while you are attending college and many students do work to help pay for their expenses. Career Services will assist with work and internship opportunities. Contact their office at
icep@findlay.edu
or call 419-434-4665.
Psychology majors are encouraged to find jobs or provide volunteer work that will increase their skills in working with people. Service learning experiences and other related opportunities are blended into the classes. The Campus Compact can assist students in identifying community service opportunities. Contact the Campus Compact at
cjones@findlay.edu
As part of the requirements for the Psychology major, students will enroll in Community and Urban Experience (PSYC 328). When you take this course, and you can take it over several semesters, you actually do volunteer work in your area of interest. For example, students have done volunteer work at a local mental health center, a domestic violence shelter, a Camp Fire office, a homeless shelter, a human relations department of a company, an animal shelter, a local hospital, a juvenile court, or any place that enhances their skills and brings "real life" experiences to help them learn. The CUE program is directed by Dr. John Malacos and he can be contacted at
