UF Open, Helping to Meet Needs
Thursday, August 23, 2007
The University continues to be open and operating well. It has been fortunate not to have been affected too adversely by flooding in the area.
This has been a challenging week for the people of Findlay and Hancock County. The recent flooding has caused hardship for many, as well as some of the University’s own faculty, staff and students on campus. The University looks forward to the arrival of new students and returning students this weekend and classes starting on Aug. 27.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors in the region who are dealing with the aftermath of the flood waters. We will continue to help ease their problems and as they attempt to return their lives to normal, and are coordinating service projects with city, county and aid officials to provide assistance which will be the most helpful.
Findlay is a wonderful community because of the people and the shared generous spirit of all, and we will come through all of this together.
A full schedule of activities is planned for the weekend. Students, parents or others with questions are encouraged to call the Office of Student Affairs at 419-434-4570, Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at 419-434-4589 or the University switchboard 419-422-8313.
Those coming to campus are encouraged to take U.S. Route 224 to campus, which is free of water obstacles.
