Family Weekend Welcomes Many to Campus
Friday, October 05, 2007
A full schedule of activities and great weather helped make
Family Weekend
a memorable couple of days for UF students and their families.
Families began arriving on campus Friday, Sept. 28, for Family Weekend, starting off the day by attending classes with their students.
Also on Friday, more than 40 family members took a tour of the
city of Findlay
and more than 400 people ended the evening at the western equestrian farm with a bonfire, hayrides and door prizes.

Students and their families enjoyed breakfast together on Saturday morning before attending the “A Day in the Life of a Student” panel. Approximately 75 family members asked questions of and listened to comments from UF students, faculty, staff and administrators.
The Family Equestrian Festival and Mini-Jumping Prix, held at the English equestrian farm, drew a crowd of more than 600 on Saturday afternoon. Families were invited to a picnic while watching dressage and reining horse performances, as well as a performance by the western and English drill teams.
The $1,500 mini-jumping prix featured several UF alumni. In addition to the equestrian festivities, there also was a dog agility demonstration, face painting, a clown and pony rides for children.
