Alumni & Pharmacy Reception
The University of Findlay's College of Pharmacy and Office of Alumni & Parent Relations invite you for a Pharmacy & Alumni Reception at the annual American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Midyear Clinical Meeting.  The event will include hors d'oeuvres and beverages. A welcome and brief comments from Donald Stansloski, R.Ph., Ph.D., Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Dee Dee Spraw '00 M'07, Director of Alumni & Parent Relations, will be presented.  This will be a great opportunity to visit with fellow alumni, faculty, staff and current pharmacy students of The University of Findlay.

This event and CPE activity are complimentary and you do not need to attend the conference to participate! The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy will host a 1.0 contact hour (0.1 CEU) continuing education activity, "Future of Medication Therapy: Personalized Medicine."  This ACPE-approved knowledge-based activity will be presented by Michael D. Reed, Pharm.D., Director, Division of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology and Associate Chair, Department of Pediatrics, Children's Hospital Medical Center, Akron, & NEOUCOM, Rootstown, Ohio. At the completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:
  • Discuss the principles of pharmacogenomics
  • Review the common polymorphisms relevant to drug therapy
  • Discuss the relationship between these polymorphisms, the occurrence of side effects, and treatment outcome
  • Summarize how pharmacogenetic/genomic information can be used to clinically tailor drug doses, reduce adverse effects and avoid drug-drug and drug-nutrient interactions.
CPE Accreditation
The University of Findlay, College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education and complies with the Criteria for Quality for continuing pharmacy education programming.

This is a knowledge-based activity. This educational activity is approved for 1.0 contact hours or 0.1 CEUs.  ACPE UAN:0449-0000-09-194-L01-P. This program will be released on Dec. 8, 2009, and expires on Dec. 8, 2012. A statement of credit will be issued 4 to 6 weeks upon receipt of completed registration/evaluation documents. There is no registration fee for this program.
