The following information provides general tips and suggestions to help you, the distance learner, access the resources and services needed for research. This includes access to full text articles and access to books and other materials through the OhioLINK Library Catalog.

SOME BASICS

UF Net account: Your current UF net account information (email, blackboard login) is your gateway to accessing article and other electronic databases off campus. See Access Databases Off Campus.

Library barcode: To request books through the OhioLINK Library Catalag, you will need a library barcode. If you have an Oiler OneCard, the barcode is the 14-digit number of the backside. If you do not have this card, see Obtaining a Barcode.

Even if you do not plan to request books, a library barcode is still useful as an alternative method to accessing article databases in case the UF network is not available. Again see Access Databases Off Campus.
