All applicants who are new to the teaching profession or are new to teaching in Alaska must apply for Initial teacher certification. If any college-level coursework has been completed outside of the United States, a completed, original foreign evaluation must be submitted with the application. More information concerning foreign evaluations can be found at our foreign evaluations page. INITIAL OUT-OF-STATE TEACHER CERTIFICATE. The Initial Out-of-State teacher certificate is for educators who are currently certified in another state to teach, and who would like to begin teaching in Alaska. To qualify for an Initial Out-of-State teacher certificate an applicant must meet the following requirements:
• Has never held an Alaska teacher certificate
• Holds a current, valid out-of-state teacher certificate (out-of-country certificate will not be accepted), that will be current and valid at the time the applicant's contract for instructional services begins in an Alaska public school district.
An Initial/Out-of-State teacher certificate will be valid for one year, but may be issued twice for a total of two (2) one-year extensions. Endorsements placed on an Initial/Out-of-State teacher certificate will reflect the endorsements on the applicant's out-of-state certificate. If an applicant holds more than one valid, out-of-state certificate, the applicant must choose which out-of-state certificate to submit with the Initial application.An Initial/Out-of-State teacher certificate is not renewable. The Arizona Department of Education Certification Unit may issue comparable teaching, administrative, or professional non-teaching certificate to an applicant who holds a valid, comparable certificate in another state and is in good standing in that other state. Applicants may also qualify to add additional approved areas or endorsements to existing teaching certificates if they hold a valid, comparable approved area or endorsement in another state. Individuals who qualify under Certification Reciprocity Rules are exempt from Arizona educator exam requirements.
The following documents should be submitted to apply under Certification Reciprocity: An Application for Certification. A photocopy of your valid Arizona Department of Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card.

Standard License - Reciprocity 2-1.02 The Office of Educator Licensure shall issue a Standard License upon receipt of the following from an applicant holding a current, valid educator license from another state:
· 2-1.02.1 A completed application for licensure, with payment of any applicable fees as established by the State Board pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 6-17-422(h)(3)(C); 2-1.02.2 Documentation that the applicant has successfully completed all background checks required by the Department's Rules Governing Background Checks: 2-1.02.3 A copy of the out-of-state license(s) held by the applicant; 2-1.02.4 Certification from the state that issued the license that the license has been in good standing for the most recent two (2) years;
2-1.02.5 An official score report: (a) reflecting passing scores on the appropriate pedagogical and content-area assessments required by the licensing state; or (b) if the licensing state does not require such assessments, reflecting passing scores, as approved by the State Board, on the appropriate basic-skills, pedagogical, and content-area assessments as mandated by the State Board, except as noted in Section 1-2.36 of these rules, 2-1.02.5.1 This requirement shall be waived upon the receipt of documentation on school district, agency, or organization letterhead of at least three (3) years of experience in another state as a licensed teacher, administrator, library media specialist, or counselor, or similar licensed experience in a licensure content area or level of licensure; 2-1.02.6 An official transcript documenting an awarded bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; 2-1.02.7 Documentation of one (1) of the following: Agency #005.16 ADE 317-15 2-1.02.7.
1 Successful completion of a program of teacher education at a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, but only if the applicant possesses a Standard License Equivalent;
o 2-1.02.7.2 Successful completion of an educator preparation program that is nationally accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the United States Department of Education, the Council for Higher Education, or the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation; or: 2-1.02.7.3 Current certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards; and 2-1.02.8 For applicants seeking licensure in Early Childhood (P-4), Elementary Education (K-6), Middle Childhood (4-8), or Secondary Social Studies (7-12), documentation of the successful completion of three (3) college credit-hours in Arkansas History at an accredited college or university or a 45-hour professional development piece in Arkansas History through Arkansas IDEAS; and 2-1.02.9 Documentation of the completion of the following professional development through the Arkansas IDEAS Portal; 2-1.02.9.1 Two (2) hours of parental involvement; 2-1.02.9.2 Two (2) hours of child maltreatment training;
2-1.02.9.3 Two (2) hours of teen suicide awareness and prevention; and 2-1.02.9.4 Dyslexia awareness. 2-1.04 The Department may recommend to the State Board that a person's Arkansas Standard License issued by reciprocity be revoked, suspended, or placed on probation if the out-of-state license is revoked, suspended, or placed on probation, as applicable, by the issuing state for any reason that a Standard License may be revoked, suspended, or placed on probation in Arkansas. |

Out-of-State Middle School Teacher Applicants: California does not issue credentials specifically for teaching in middle schools. Educators prepared in other states who are certified ONLY in a middle school setting have the option to choose to apply for California certification in either Multiple or Single subjects.
For out-of-state prepared educators who are dually certified in both middle school and another setting (elementary or secondary/high school), you may only apply for the comparable area of certification in either elementary or secondary/high school certification. Important notes: Colorado issues licenses/endorsements in one of two ways: If you have a valid teacher license (not substitute, temporary, emergency, provisional or probationary) issued by another state that carries an identical endorsement to one issued by Colorado, meet the degree and program requirement for that endorsement AND have three years of full-time licensed teaching experience in that state within the past seven years, Colorado will issue a professional license with the identical endorsement requested.
If you do not meet these requirements completely, Colorado is required to issue licenses in the endorsement area of preparation, as verified on an approved program verification form. If upon evaluation it is determined that you need to first pass a content exam in order to qualify for this endorsement, we will issue an interim authorization, which will allow you to teach while you prepare for and fulfill the exam requirement. Transcripts from institutions outside the US must be in English or include an authentic English translation and have been evaluated by a NACES member for course-by-course equivalency. Note: Unofficial transcripts are not accepted. Please do not include them in your application. Three or more years of full-time, licensed teaching experience within the past seven years in the state of licensure OR a completed Approved Program Verification Form. If you have three or more years' post-preparation experience as a full-time, fully licensed teacher (not as a substitute, emergency, provisional, probationary or temporary teacher), please include in the application copies of all licenses (expired or current) that cover this experience. If you do not have three years of full-time licensed teaching experience, please include a complete approved program verification form, unless your teacher preparation program was completed outside the US. Out-of-state applicants who completed an alternative preparation program and who have not yet accrued the three years' fully licensed experience must also include an official, signed letter from the department of education in the state in which you completed the alternative program confirming that the program you completed was indeed state-approved. It must also outline the program requirements for the alternative program you completed.
Obtain the results for any CDE-accepted PLACE or PRAXIS exams you have passed. Do not include results for exams other than those specifically accepted by the state of Colorado. If you have not taken any of the exams listed, please do not select an exam in the pull-down menu. CDE will review your application materials to determine whether an exam is required. If you are an educator who holds Licensure in another state and wishes to apply for a Delaware License, you will need to register and apply online for Delaware Licensure and Certification. The License allows you to teach in Delaware, and the Certificate identifies the subject(s) you may teach. You may apply for only one License but multiple Certificates.
Required documentation: Your application cannot be processed until we receive all documentation listed on your application.
TRANSCRIPTS - Send official (unopened) transcripts for all degrees and coursework directly to our office. DOE can only accept transcripts from regionally accredited colleges/universities. NON-DELAWARE CREDENTIALS -
Educators who hold a full and current license/certificate in another U.S. state (including District of Colombia, Guam, and Puerto Rico) will receive a comparable Delaware license/certificate.

Private School License Endorsements
If your credential is valid beyond the expiration date listed on your Certificate, you must have the issuing State Department of Education submit a letter verifying your credential is still current and valid.
If your credential is not accepted under reciprocity, you will need to submit passing Core Academic Skills for Educators reading, writing, and math scores (or an approved alternative) for your License and the appropriate Praxis II or ACTFL scores or coursework for your Certificate Educational Testing Service (ETS) administers the Praxis tests. Please use reporting code R7065 to ensure test scores are sent electronically to the Delaware Department of Education. For Certificates requiring American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), Language Testing International administers the ACTFL tests. For certificate requirements click here. Florida has two reciprocity routes for certified teachers and administrators to qualify for our Professional Certificate.
Route 1: Valid Standard Certificate Issued by a State Other than Florida
The certificate shall be the valid standard educator's certificate issued by that state which is comparable to a Florida Professional Certificate, and Be issued in a subject comparable to a Florida certification subject, and Require the same or higher level of training required for certification in that subject in Florida, and The certificate must be currently valid (not expired or revoked).
Route 2: Certificate Issued by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) The NBPTS certificate must be currently valid. The Florida certificate will reflect the Florida subject considered comparable to the NBPTS subject.

Out-of-State Preparatory Program Indiana's process for applying reciprocity to out-of-state license holders changed in 2016, making the process much easier. If you hold a valid out-of-state license and have completed an NCATE/CAEP accredited or state approved teacher preparation program in another state and want to obtain an Indiana teaching license, or if you are from another state and do not hold a teaching license but would like to obtain an Indiana teaching license, there are licensure paths available for you. Please note, however, that Indiana requires an applicant to pass a content (subject matter) licensure test in every content area that will appear on the Indiana license issued. In content areas in which you have not passed a test, you may be eligible for a one-year temporary reciprocal permit if you hold a valid out-of-state license, on which you may teach while meeting Indiana's testing requirements. Eligibility for the reciprocal permit means that both some of the Indiana requirements for licensure have been met and one holds a valid (unexpired) out-of-state license. Reciprocity does not obligate Indiana to waive certain deficiencies, nor to exempt individuals from requirements set forth by Indiana administrative law/rule. Also, there are seven licensure content areas which cannot be added to an Indiana license or transferred from an out-of-state license if the way that content area was obtained was through testing alone. In these seven areas, completion of an approved program of coursework is required in addition to testing. These areas are: English Learners, Exceptional Needs, Communication Disorders, Elementary Generalist, Early Childhood Generalist, High Ability and Fine Arts (visual art, music, theater). If you were issued a license in another state in one or more of these seven areas through testing alone and you have not completed a program of coursework in the content area, you may be eligible for a temporary reciprocal permit on which you can teach while you meet Indiana's coursework requirements. Indiana also requires all applicants to complete CPR/Heimlich/AED training, including hands-on skill practice on a mannequin in person with an instructor and suicide prevention training. Depending on your application path and type of Indiana license being issued the timing of these required trainings varies, but you may be required to complete these trainings in order to submit your application. Extension: Yes - if more time is needed to complete the deficient coursework.

• Regulations provide a number of licensing options to guarantee access to start teaching to all applicants who hold a valid full or standard out-of-state license or certificate issued after the successful completion of a state approved preparation program.
• It is critical to provide all requested documentation. If additional documentation is required, you will be notified in writing.

Candidates trained outside of Kentucky must:
Complete a CA-1 paper application. Forward this application to your college for the completion of Section IV on page 5 of the CA-1 paper application;
Provide official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework; Supply verification by the Superintendent or Personnel Director of full-time classroom teaching experience at the appropriate grade level(s) (Section 2 of CA-1), if you have out-of-state teaching experience;
Pass Praxis II Specialty Area tests for EACH area of certification (if less than two years of appropriate full-time teaching experience) and the Principles of Learning and Teaching test score for appropriate grade range; and
Make the appropriate payment through ePay online payment service for certification fees. Please note that any other forms of payment are not accepted and will be returned to the applicant. All paperwork must be submitted to the Division of Certification at the address located in the footer of this page.
Additional Information: Out-of-state applicants must have completed a state approved teacher preparation program at a regionally accredited educator preparation institution or a state-approved alternative training program. In addition, candidates must comply with the state ancillary requirements such as GPA, testing and internship.
Out-of-state applicants who hold a valid certificate and have completed two (2) years of teaching in the subject area and grade level on their certificate will be waived of the current testing requirements.
Statement of Eligibility (SOE) (Teacher)
The SOE allows candidates five (5) years to apply and receive employment as a teacher in a Kentucky school. During the first year of employment, the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program (KTIP) must be successfully completed.
If the internship is not completed within the five (5) year period, the applicant may renew the SOE by repeating and passing the assessment program in effect for new teachers at that time or by completing a minimum of six (6) graduate hours toward completion of a graduate program required by administrative regulations promulgated by the Education Professional Standards Board. The option for renewal through completion of graduate hours shall be available only for the first renewal. |

Louisiana offers two types of teaching certificates to applicants holding a standard out-of-state teaching certificate. Both are valid certificates and make the holder eligible for a teaching assignment in a Louisiana classroom. The certificate that is issued to the applicant depends on whether or not the applicant has met Louisiana's Praxis and/or NTE testing requirements. Level 1 (LV1) Professional Certificate is a standard, three-year Louisiana teaching certificate that authorizes certification for the levels or subjects available in Louisiana and that are consistent with those currently on the applicant's Out-of-State teaching certificate. A Level 1 certificate is issued to individuals who have completed the Louisiana PRAXIS and/or NTE requirements. 2. Out-of-State (OS) Certificate is a standard, three-year, non-renewable Louisiana teaching certificate that authorizes certification for the levels or subjects available in Louisiana and that are consistent with those currently on the applicant's Out-of-State teaching certificate. An Out-of- State (OS) certificate is issued to individuals who have not met Louisiana's PRAXIS and/or NTE requirements. A letter of eligibility for Out-of-State certification will be issued to individuals who meet requirements as described above. The OS certificate will be issued upon employment as a teacher of record per the request of the Louisiana employing school system. Louisiana employing school systems have been informed that a letter of eligibility issued by the Division of Educator Licensure is sufficient to identify you as being eligible for employment and receipt of a certificate upon their request. Exemption from PRAXIS and/or NTE RequirementsAn applicant who holds a valid, standard Out-of-State teaching certificate, has at least three years of successful teaching experience in another state as verified by the previous out-of-state school district/county's satisfactory annual evaluation results, and teaches on an OS certificate for one (1) year in a Louisiana approved public or approved nonpublic school system shall not have to complete the required examinations or to submit examination scores from any examination previously taken in another state as prerequisite to the granting of a Level 1 certificate in Louisiana, provided that: a.The teacher meets all other requirements for a Louisiana certificate as required by law or board policy. b. The local superintendent or his designee of the public school system employing the teacher has recommended the teacher for employment for the following school year and has requested that the teacher be granted a valid Louisiana teaching certificate. Upon meeting conditions (a) and (b), the individual holding the OS certificate may apply through his/her school district for a professional level certificate.
2 Eligibility for Teaching Area(s) on a Louisiana Certificate The teaching areas designated on the certificate are based upon verification of the completion of an out-of-state teacher preparation program that included student teaching, an internship, or three years of successful teaching experience in the certification area. If you have not taught as a regular teacher within the past five years in an elementary or secondary school, you are required to complete six semester credits related to the teaching field(s) from a regionally accredited college/university. The credits must be earned during the five-year period immediately preceding the date of application. A candidate who has not taught in five years may be issued a one-year non-renewable (OS1) certificate while he/she completes six semester hours required for the issuance of a three-year non-renewable (OS) certificate You can be issued a Louisiana 3-year OS (Out-of-State) certificate while you complete Praxis exams. An out-of-state candidate may be excluded from having to complete all Praxis exams for certification purposes (although some exams may be required for "Highly Qualified" purposes) if all of the following is met: -Teacher has at least 3 years of teaching experience in another state, -Teacher teaches on the Out-of-State (OS) certificate for 1 year in Louisiana, AND -The teacher's employing Louisiana school district (public or approved private school) must verify all experience and submit the application page of certification update packet along with the experience verification form, professional conduct form, & certification fee for the higher level certificate. |

If you answered "yes" to this question, you could qualify for a temporary license. A temporary license is valid for one (1) year of employment. This enables out-of-state applicants to seek and obtain employment in the Commonwealth while they work to take and pass all required MTEL tests.

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you could qualify for an initial license through the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement. Massachusetts participates with every state and the District of Columbia through the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement for almost every license issued by the DESE Office of Educator Licensure. An initial license is valid for five (5) years of employment from the date of issuance in the State of Massachusetts.

Out-of-state certification programs and credentials may differ from Michigan programs and credentials; however, under the ICA, the Department attempts to match out-of-state certificates, grade levels and content endorsements, as closely as possible.To determine reciprocity under the ICA, an evaluation must be completed. For this to happen, an application must be submitted using the Michigan Online Educator Certification System(MOECS). MOECS will determine the certificate type (standard or professional) being applied for based on answers to the application questions. Accurate responses and supporting documentation are required. First Aid and CPR
Requirement:The applicant must also have current training in first aid and child and adult CPR from an approved sourcesuch as the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. After an evaluation of application documents, the applicant will be notified per a MOECS evaluation letter as to what appropriate subject area tests are to be taken via the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification(MTTC).
Temporary Teacher Employment Authorization: If the applicant holds a valid, standard teaching certificate from another state, the applicant can be issued a nonrenewable Standard Temporary Teacher Employment Authorization (T2EA) that authorizes his/her employment in a Michigan school for one year. The applicant can be employed as a teacher for a year while working to pass the required tests. Additional time for testing is allowable, but without T2EA validity.Please note that once the T2EA has expired, the law requires the passage of the tests and reciprocal evaluation for the Standard Teaching Certificate. The option of the Professional Teaching Certificate as the initial Michigan certificate can no longer be provided.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE If an applicant who has completed an out-of-state approved teacher preparation program and holds a valid, standard teaching certificate from that state and meets all the requirements for the Professional Teaching Certificate or a Professional CTE Certificate listed below, he/she can be evaluated for the Professional certificate as his/her initial Michigan teaching certificate. Five Year Reciprocity License; A Five-Year Educator License – Reciprocity is granted to applicants who possesses a valid standard license from another state in an area in which Mississippi issues an endorsement and meets Mississippi's minimum licensure requirements or equivalent. In the 2011 state legislative session, House Bill 641 changed the state statute for Reciprocity applicants. Now, Section 37-3-2 (8)(a) states: The department shall grant a standard license to any individual who possesses a valid standard license from another state and meets minimum Mississippi license requirements or equivalent requirements as determined by the State Board of Education. A bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college/university is a base requirement for certification. These will be used to verify: Bachelor's degree conferral; 3.0 GPA; Program completion and/or required coursework for certification; Student teaching/internship/practicum or field experience. 4. Obtain a copy of your current and valid state certificate comparable to the PA certificate you are seeking if available. 5. Obtain a completed Education Prep Program Verification Form as proof of comp[letion of an educator prep program approved for certification in the state in which the program was completed. 6. Confirm that the required area test scores and the basic skills assessments have been reported to the PDE directly from the test administrator. For test information, refer to the Certification Test and Score Requirements spreadsheet. If submitting SAT or ACT scores to meet the basic skills assessments, obtain your paper score report in a sealed envelope from the testing agency. You must take the PA required tests and meet the PA qualifying score. No other tests can be substituted. The basic skills assessments are not required for post-baccalaureate program completers or for applicants who hold a conferred master's degree. The basic skills tests will still be requested in your TIMS application as the determination to waive the basic skills requirement is not made by TIMS. It is determined by the certification specialist at the time the application is evaluated. 7. Complete and submit the application in TIMS. All applicants for initial certification in PA must apply for a Level I credential type. After completing the payment selection and successfully SUBMITTING your application in TIMS, you will be provided a link to the application cover sheet. Include the cover sheet with all required documents and mail to the address indicated on the cover sheet. Create a user account in My SC Educator Portal and submit an Academic Application for
certification prior to all other steps below.
Submit the non-refundable application processing fee of $105 online through My SC
Educator Portal.
Complete the fingerprinting process and criminal records review.
o Read the detailed instructions that will be available to you in My SC Educator Portal
after submitting the online application.
o If you are located in South Carolina, schedule an appointment for digital fingerprinting
through the state-approved vendor.
o If you are located outside of South Carolina, request a fingerprint card by sending an
email with your full name, Educator ID (EID), and mailing address to
[email protected]. Your EID will be available in the Educator Portal once you
submit the application.
Review information on submitting forms and documents prior to submitting official
transcript or other application materials.
Request an official transcript from each regionally accredited college/university you have
attended. If any transcript contains a previous name, please send an email to
[email protected] with your full name, EID, the name of the institution(s), and your
previous name as it will appear on the transcript(s). We will then note this information in
your certification record.
Submit a copy of all pages, front and back, of your existing, valid out-of-state credential.
o If a state no longer issues physical certificates and instead utilizes digital certificates or
records, please submit the certificate as a PDF. A computer screenshot of the credential
is acceptable if converted to a PDF. Cell phone images, even if converted to a PDF, will
not be accepted.
Submit copies of score reports for any certification exams you have completed.
Request each employer where you have earned educator experience complete and submit an
Experience Verification Form. You will need to complete the top portion of the form and
send it to the payroll or human resources department of the employer.

You must apply for a review of credentials if you are seeking certification in Texas and you hold a standard certificate issued by another state or territory. Create an online account. Complete an application and pay the $164 non-refundable fee. Submit official transcripts from all colleges. Submit copies of all standard certificates. Submit proof of oral English language proficiency if your degree was earned outside the United States, including territories of the United States. Once the review of credentials is completed you will receive the results by email. The email will include the required tests for standard certificates and your eligibility for a one-year non-renewable certificate. If you were required to take tests to obtain the certificates that you submitted for the review of credentials, you must submit additional documentation for possible exemption of Texas tests. Out-of-state test scores will not be considered without a review of credentials.Once you have completed the review of credentials, you may be issued a One-Year non-renewable certificate. Vermont currently has educator reciprocity with all states except: New York, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Educators who hold a current license, or have a recommendation for licensure on their transcript, from any of these states; will need to apply for Initial License through Transcript Review. Eligibility for licensure through reciprocity is determined by meeting requirements under the rules of reciprocity per the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement. A. An individual coming into Virginia from any state may qualify for a Virginia teaching license with comparable endorsement areas if the individual has completed a state-approved teacher preparation program through a regionally accredited four-year college or university, or if the individual holds a valid out-of-state teaching license (full credential without deficiencies) that must be in force at the time the application for a Virginia license is made. An individual seeking licensure must establish a file in the Department of Education by submitting a complete application packet, which includes official student transcripts. Professional teacher's assessments prescribed by the Board of Ecucation must be satisfied. B. An individual coming into Virginia will qualify for a Virginia teaching license with
comparable endorsement areas if the individual holds national certification from the
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) or a nationally recognized
certification program approved by the Board of Education.
C. Licensure by reciprocity is provided for individuals who have obtained a valid out-of state license (full credential without deficiencies) that is in force at the time the
application for a Virginia license is received by the Department of Education. The
individual must establish a file in the Department of Education by submitting a complete
application packet, which shall include official student transcripts. Unless exempted by
the criteria in subsection D of this section, licensure assessments prescribed by the Board
of Education shall be required.
D. Individuals who hold a valid out-of-state license (full credential without deficiencies)
and who have completed a minimum of three years of full-time, successful teaching
experience in a public or accredited nonpublic school (kindergarten through grade 12) in a state other than Virginia are exempted from the professional teachers' assessment requirements. |

To qualify for initial educator, Basic I, certification in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), all candidates must: Earn either a baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree resulting from a course of instruction of at least three and one-half years length at a college or university recognized by the U.S. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or its successors. Complete general application requirements: certification application,one (1) passport size photo, official transcripts, teaching certificate (if any), payment of the certification processing fee, FBI fingerprint submission, proof of passing all three Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) tests and the appropriate Praxis® Subject Assessments. Transitional Certificate: This certificate is the Entry-level certificate for teachers who hold a certificate in the same or equivalent title from another state, or holds a national (USA) certificate, or who is deemed an International Teacher, who has met the credentialing requirement standards, but who has not yet met the Virgin Islands testing requirements. The Transitional Certificate allows the holder up to two years to meet the testing requirements to qualify for an Initial Certificate. Initial Certificate: The Initial Certificate is the First-level teaching certificate and is issued for a specific subject or grade level. It is valid for five years (with the possibility of a time extension if you are eligible). A holder of an Initial Certificate must apply to the VIBE for the Professional Educator Certificate upon completion of all requirements. Elementary Education Educator: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in elementary education or early childhood education with a minimum of 36 professional education credits (Foundations of Education, Educational Psychology, Classroom Management/Student Teaching, Curriculum and Methods, Educational Technology and Introduction to Special Education). ✓ A minimum of 36 semester credit hours in 5 of the 6 general academic areas (English, Natural Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Foreign Language And Fine Arts) ✓ Pass the PRAXIS II exam for elementary education content knowledge (VI passing score is 163). Secondary Education Educator: ✓ A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the subject area to be taught with a minimum of 26 professional education credits (Foundations of Education, Educational Psychology, Classroom Management/Student Teaching, Curriculum and Methods, Educational Technology and Introduction to Special Education). ✓ A minimum of 42 semester credit hours in 5 of the 6 general academic areas (English, Natural Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Foreign Language And Fine Arts) ✓ Pass the PRAXIS I Exam Passing Scores: ▪ Mathematics: 150 ▪Reading:156 ▪ Writing: 162 |
