The Future Leaders Initiative presents Access Success, a professional development summit for University of Findlay students to network with higher-level professionals and broaden their knowledge on post-graduation options. Undergraduate and graduate students can explore a variety of professional fields, hear professional development tips, and learn not only how to get hired, but how to also be a standout employee.
Access Success will...
- Expand student connections
- Enable students to learn more about work fields/careers
- Create/strengthen University connections with regional companies
- Enhance student experiences
- Provide the students an “edge" to get into competitive careers
Activities at Access Success include:
- Speakers/professionals from at least 9 different companies representing each of the six UF colleges
- Break-out sessions
- Adulting Fair - Faculty members will host stations on "adulting" topics which include but are not limited to:
- How to tie a tie
- Life after college (rent, mortgages, when to know it's appropriate to purchase a car)
- Climbing the company ladder
- Resume building
- Paying off student loans after school efficiently
- Vesting 101, not just penny stocks and small stuff, how to find the good companies to invest, different mutual funds, etc.
- Entrepreneurship
- Networking and building relationships
- Brand/social media management
