The quality business programs offered by the College of Business at UF emphasizes experiential or active learning to enhance student development of managerial competencies that are valuable in achieving above-average performance and career success. Among these competencies are communication skills (both written and verbal), critical thinking, and computing skills. But, in addition, we seek to help our students develop a truly global perspective, because business today is global in nature.
The College of Business offers opportunities for many different types of experiential learning including internships and cooperative programs with major local firms, such as Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Marathon Petroleum Company and Whirlpool Corporation. In addition, students have opportunities to work on real business problems by working on projects in various classes and taking part in student organizations that are actively engaged in the business community.
Our faculty work together with a common goal to inspire and guide students as they pursue their learning objectives and to instill in them a lifelong quest for knowledge. The faculty has an open door policy and meets with students on a regular basis to help them solve problems and complete assignments.
