Businesses today are recognizing the importance of employee development and training. There's an increasing demand for human resource professionals who can design and implement training programs and establish a learning dynamic for the entire organization. The University of Findlay has responded to this demand by creating a highly marketable major tailored to both traditional and non-traditional students.

Building on the strong foundation of the Master of Arts in Education Program, the Human Resource Development Strand features courses with a focus on employee education. They will provide you with the knowledge base, skills, training and practical experience necessary to work in a variety of settings. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 7 percent increase in positions for training and development managers from 2014 - 2024. That equates to 2,300 jobs that will need to be filled in this profession alone. Additionally, our graduates are prepared for positions in online instruction, workforce development, adult curriculum design, athletic administration and many other roles in adult and continuing education. 

Students earning a masters degree in the Human Resource Development strand must complete:

Graduate Education ​Core (five courses)+

Human Resource Development Strand (three courses), and 


Complete three courses from one of the following areas:


Leadership

Increase your knowledge of effective leadership through interactions and strategy implementation. ​

Training and Development

For current and aspiring Human Resources professionals looking to gain a new perspective on management and organizational techniques.
