Endorsements
The reading endorsement gives educators the knowledge base to effectively teach reading to all grade levels. It also fulfills the credentials required for the Ohio Department of Education's Third Grade Guarantee and you are required to pass a state examination to receive this endorsement. Findlay's reading endorsement is a series of five online graduate courses that can be taken in any order so it can be completed within one calendar year at your convenience.
Our TESOL endorsement prepares students to teach English Language Learners (ELL), the fastest growing population of school-aged children with more than 35,000 students in Ohio public schools alone. Adding TESOL to your credentials can prepare you for careers in cross-cultural settings.
Certificates
The mission of the Literacy Leadership Certificate is to educate school leaders in the science of reading so that they can make informed decisions concerning reading-related issues in their schools and districts.
This certificate program will offer focused professional development in the areas of school process and procedure, instructional design and delivery methods as well as classroom management techniques that might prove beneficial for school counselors who have never had the training or experience in working with school-aged children in a classroom instructional environment. Courses can be used for renewing your license or professional development.
