Consideration for admission to the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program requires:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution or first-professional doctorate degree, specifically when no baccalaureate degree was offered (e.g., Pharm.D.); or be a seated student in good academic standing within the UF Pharmacy program.
- Submission of official transcripts, which can be in the form of attested credentials from a University-recognized document verification agency, of all college-level work.
- A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a minimum cumulative graduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale associated with a previous master's degree. This includes classes from all institutions attended. Students who have a 2.5 cumulative undergraduate grade point average may be considered for conditional admission but must attain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in the first nine hours of the MSHI program to be fully admitted to the program.
- Fulfillment of the following prerequisite competencies, demonstrated by official transcript and course syllabus (if applicable), completion of courses or competency testing:
- Medical Terminology
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Introduction to Computers (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Database Applications (Access or SQL)
Any prerequisite courses submitted for consideration must be completed with a final grade of “C” or above. Any competency tests taken must be completed with at least the minimum passing score. A student MAY be admitted under Conditional Admission status to complete their prerequisite competencies, and these must be completed within a specified time frame. A student attains Full Admission status upon completion of the prerequisite competencies and all other admission requirements.
Students whose native language is not English and who have not graduated from a University of Findlay-approved English-speaking university must meet the previously listed admissions conditions plus the following for full admissions:
- Must have a verified international English Language Testing System (IELTS) of 7.0 composite score with all bands at 6.5 or above, or an equivalent score as indicated on the University of Findlay's English Exam Admission Standards. Full admission is dependent on satisfying all admission requirements; however, students may also receive direct admission with Graduate ESL course prerequisites if no more than two bands are under the minimum.
- Provide an affidavit of financial support (original), if not an American citizen or permanent resident.

How to stay in?
To remain in good academic standing, students must:
Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Students receiving a B- (<3.0) or lower in any course will be referred to the program director
Achieve a Minimum Grade in Each Course
- No more than one “C+” or “C” may be used to meet graduate degree requirements
- Students are allowed one C+ or C without having to repeat that course
- When a student receives more than one grade lower than a B-, the program director will determine which course must be repeated
- Any other course (concurrent or subsequent) receiving a grade lower than B- will result in suspension from the health informatics program and must be repeated
- See the current Graduate Catalog for specific policies and procedures on academic probation, suspension, dismissal, and reinstatement
