Medical investigator? Laboratory analysis? Sound interesting?
If so, then a bachelor's of science in medical laboratory science (MLS), also known as medical technology, may be for you!
Medical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. These tests range from simple blood tests to more complex analyses such as those needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer. Medical laboratory scientists can also specialize in areas such as chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology and microbiology. They are responsible for the accuracy of test results and the reporting of results to the pathologist or other doctors.
The most successful medical laboratory scientists are problem solvers who:
- Like a varied work environment
- Enjoy challenges and taking personal responsibility
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Work well under pressure
- Set high personal standards and perform high-quality work
- Are committed to helping others
Our Program
