University of Findlay's Traditional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is designed to allow bachelor's degree holders to earn a doctorate in three years. Students in the program spend two and a half years in the classroom and six months in full-time clinical rotations.
Application Process:
- Apply online to the DPT Traditional Program using the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS)
- PTCAS applications are available June 15th
- All PTCAS materials should be submitted six weeks prior to the application deadline.
- There is a $60 supplemental fee to apply, which can be submitted through our online form
- Deadlines for application:
- Priority deadline: October 1st
- Final deadline: February 1st
- Applicants who apply by the October 1st deadline will be given priority status in our admissions process as compared to applicants who apply later. The University of Findlay DPT program encourages students to apply by the priority admissions deadline, October 1st.
- Students must also update their transcripts in PTCAS with final Fall 2024 grades once posted by the institution.
- We will continue to accept applications until the final deadline of February 1,2025 however the majority of our admissions process may be completed in October and November.
Admission Requirements:
- Minimum overall college grade point average of 3.0, and a minimum Math/Science Prerequisites GPA of 3.2. All prerequisites must be completed with a final grade of “C” or higher.
- Must complete 40 hours of observation in two different types of clinical settings in physical therapy by the time of application to the DPT program.
- One setting must be in an Inpatient setting (hospital, inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility
- The second setting is the student's setting of choice.
- A minimum of 20 hours is required at each clinical site.
- Complete the Physical Therapy Central Application Service (PTCAS)
- GRE: points awarded to student on application; no cut-off score
- Letters of recommendation (2)
- College instructor & PT with whom you observed
- Essay
- Service and community involvement
- Official transcripts

Students whose native language is not English and who have not graduated from American universities must meet the previously listed admissions conditions, plus:
Have a verified TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) minimum total score of 89 with 26 or better in speaking and 24 or better in writing or a verified International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic score with a minimum overall band score of 7.0. Students not supplying an IELTS score are required to test in the Intensive English Language Program, and if necessary, complete coursework in English. Provide an affidavit of financial support (original), if not an American citizen or permanent resident.
