Dear SSC presenter,
We were very disappointed that we had to cancel our annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity due to the COVID-19 crisis. Since that time we have been developing plans to recognize your efforts as they would have been showcased on that day. I write today to share with you our plans for a virtual SSC!
We will be creating a special SSC 2020 location on our website for the virtual symposium. On that site we are planning to have as many of the activities of the day represented as possible: awards presentations, student presentations, and poster presentations. We have completed the Symposium Program in PDF format just as it would have appeared in print form.
To help us make this as complete as possible we are turning to you for help. We would like you to send us your SSC materials if you have completed them:
1. If you have a completed poster, you may upload a PDF version of that poster to using the Google Drive link below. Look for the folder marked "Student Poster Presentations." Be sure to use your full name and the title for the PDF file.
2. If you were planning to deliver an oral presentation, we have two options for you:
You may upload a PDF versions of your Powerpoint slides (select save as in Powerpoint and choose PDF format) to the email below.
If you wish, you can record your presentation in Zoom. We will include that in the Symposium pages. Directions for how to record a presentation are attached to this email.
We fully understand that the impact of COVID-19 may have stopped your work on your presentation or poster, so if you did not complete your presentation we are not requiring you to do so now. We will still recognize you in the program since you were selected as a presenter. However, if you submit either your poster or your presentation, we will conduct a random drawing from among those names for prizes, just like we normally do at the end of SSC!
We hope to have the virtual SSC website ready by May 1, so we are asking you to send your materials as soon as you can, but no later than Wednesday, April 22.
