Shafer Library access is restricted to UF students, faculty, and staff until further notice. City of Findlay and Hancock County community members can
contact the library by email or chat to receive ressearch assistance related to government information during this type.
Shafer Library became a selective depository for U. S. government publications in 1969. We maintain a small physical collection of government publications in print and microfiche formats. Research assistance is available to the public and the University community when the library is open.
The majority of Federal and state government information are now available free on the web. Nearly all of the
Basic Collection titles are available in electronic format. Anyone can access these online documents when in the library using the research stations on the second floor and the lower floor in Shafer Library. Wireless access is available for individuals using their own laptops, tablets, or smartphone.
