Offices Student Activities, Commuter Services & Leadership Development offers leadership training opportunities throughout the academic year. 


Fall Leadersh​ip Retre​at


Annually, upperclassmen returning for the fall semester are invited to pre-register & participate in the annual fall leadership retreat. The incoming first-year students are recruited during summer registrations. There is limited availability and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. The retreat is sponsored by the Offices of Student Activities, Commuter Services & Leadership Development & co-funded by Student Government Association (SGA) & Student Activities Board (SAB).


The retreat offers students opportunities to network, enhance existing leadership skills & develop new skills that will catalyze current & future leadership roles. 


There is no fee to participate. Pre-registration is required. Please have a valid UF I.D. available when registering for the retreat. 
The Student Activities, Commuter Services & Leadership Development offices are located in the Alumni Memorial Union #8A.

What: 

Weekend (out of state!!) away from campus, working with experts who have designed a leadership program tailored to UF's campus community.

Your student activity fee covers cost of participation.

  • All meals/snacks
  • Venue rental space
  • All breakout conference sessions 
  • Keynote speaker's fees
  • All conference materials

**There is a cancellation fee if one registers & then cancels. 


How to Commit: 

Commitment Forms may be picked up in the Office of Student Activities, C​ommuter Services & Leadership Development Hallway or AMU 8A summer 2024.​

I'm a non-traditional student. Should I go? YES!

Any student who pays the UF student activity fee may go on the retreat. There are opportunities to network & engage with other students both new and those who are actively involved on campus.

 

I'm a new student. Why should I attend?

This is a PERFECT OPPORTUNITY for you to meet students who WANT to MEET YOU!!! The returning students attending this retreat are invested and active students on campus. They will be able to answer your questions, introduce you to other students on the retreat and around campus. When you finish the weekend you will have new friends, contacts and connections!

 

I'm an international student. Should I go? YES!

In the past, international students who have attended have provided feedback that the retreat has helped in building their language confidence and has better connected them to the campus community through networking opportunities. 

 

I've been before, why should I attend again? YES!

Every year is different with new faces, new experiences, and a different theme tied to leadership & new opportunities for growth​.



T.O.O.L. Leadership Development Series

Training Oilers & Organizatios in Leadership Development is a workshop series that Student Activities, Commuter Services & Leadership Development, in collaboration with Student Government Association & Student Activities Board, co-host each academic year. 


The Purpose of T.O.O.L. Development Workshop Series:

  • Provide networking opportunities between peers & national/international speakers
  • Provide opportunities for students to expand their leadership skillsets
  • ​Empower students to develop an understanding of what is expected of leaders 

How T.O.O.L. Development Workshop Series Works:

  • All UF students, faculty & staff are invited to attend
  • There is no fee nor pre-registration required
  • A different leadership topic will be covered each session
  • Students attending all T.O.O.L. programs will receive a certificate for portfolios that demonstrates the individual's commitment to personal leadership growth & empowerment beyond the required classes to graduate
