Computer Science - Information Assurance Emphasis

Looking for a career as an information security analyst, cybersecurity engineer, network architect, or security consultant?

An emphasis in information assurance equips students with the knowledge and skills to protect and secure computer systems and data. Students gain an understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking security, cryptography, and risk management. This provides the foundation necessary to pursue careers in securing and safeguarding critical information in an increasingly digitized world.

This emphasis has been validated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, and our department has been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.

To complete a Computer Science degree with an Information Assurance emphasis you must complete multiple information assurance emphasis courses in addition to the computer science core courses. Coursework associated with this emphasis can be found here.
