Purpose
The purpose of the CEDEIA (Center for Electronic Data Education and Information Assurance) web site is to share cybersecurity information with our campus, our local community, and the external community at large.
In doing so, the UF computer science department encourages sharing information about the purpose, use, maintenance, and security of electronic data.
Creation of the CEDEIA web site is a requirement for earning the NSA/DHS CAE-CDE designation, which acknowledges that the UF Computer Science Department Information Assurance program meets national cybersecurity defense standards. The UF Information Assurance program filed the first of two applications for the CAE-CDE designation in October 2021, and is in the process of completing the second application which is due in January 2022. If approved, awarding of the CAE-CDE designation will be made public in May 2022. Learn more about our Information Assurance program below.
