The University of Findlay's Emergency and Disaster Management Certificate prepares professionals and community members to help citizens and businesses to recover from any sort of disaster.
This course is ideal for:

Emergency and Disaster Management Certificate Coursework
Complete five of the following courses for a total of 15 credit hours
Environmental Health and Epidemiology (ENVM 510)
This course provides you with the knowledge needed to undertake a public health investigation. You will learn how epidemiology is an important tool to evaluate how the diverse and dynamic elements of natural systems and human populations impact each other through an environmental safety and health lens. A background in biomedical science, statistics or advanced mathematics is suggested.
Disaster and Emergency Management (ENVM 560)
When disaster strikes a community must band together to take action. Learn how to create a systematic approach for emergency planning, incident command and response and recovery for organizations of all sizes that involves government agencies, the private sector and non-profits.
Waste and Wastewater Treatment (ENVM 585)
Learn about the common treatment technologies and design engineering approaches used to prepare drinking water and treat wastewaters. Regulatory expectations under the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act and related water-quality laws are emphasized throughout.
Air Pollution Control (ENVM 590)
In order to change policies, its best to know them inside and out. This course covers issues relating to the sources and types of air emissions, meteorology and its roles in the dispersion of air pollutants. Additionally, the course will review the regulatory history of federally enacted laws and go in-depth in modern technology using to tackle air pollution.
Disaster Management: Business Threat Assessment and Continuity (ENVM 660)
We have never been more able to assess and respond to natural, accidental, criminal and terrorist threats. The course emphasizes both the identification of potentially catastrophic hazards and appraisal of their potential operational impacts within organizations' overall protective strategies to reduce risk.
