Before becoming a full-time faculty member of the College of Education, Kerry Teeple worked at Mazza Museum serving as the Deputy Director. During her career as Deputy Director, she used innovative educational practices to enhance the docent training program and the educational elements within the Museum. As a faculty member, she teaches a wide variety of courses both in the Early Childhood licensure area and the Children's Literature Strand of the masters program. Previously, Kerry worked with elementary school students to improve their literacy and reading comprehension. She is passionate about using picture books to engage and educate readers of all ages. Other areas of interest include Social-Emotional Learning, S.T.E.A.M. Education, Adult Education, and Visual Literacy. Teeple holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami University, a Master of Arts in Education and a Doctorate of Education both from The University of Findlay.
