Megan Gonyer began as part-time faculty member at the University of Findlay in the fall of 2014. She moved into a visiting faculty role the following fall. In 2016, Megan was hired to serve as a full-time instructor and the Coordinator of Field Education for the Social Work and Gerontology Program. Megan is the faculty adviser for Social Work Club and serves as an academic adviser for many social work students. Dr. Gonyer completed her doctorate in social work degree through the University of St. Thomas -Minnesota and graduated in May 2021.
Prior to teaching, Megan worked in the mental health field doing community mental health work in Hancock County. She also served as a Field Instructor for several students over the course of her clinical experience. Dr. Gonyer also provides supervision for social workers in the field working toward obtaining the highest level of social work licensure, the LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker).

Megan was married in May 2017 and lives in Bowling Green with her husband Ardy and cat CJ. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers; a member of the Council on Social Work Education; a member of Baccalaureate Program Directors; and a member of Phi Alpha National Social Work Honors Society.
