Amy Z. Persson was born and raised in Wisconsin, where she obtained a BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1988. Being the great-granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants, Amy became interested in Scandinavian Studies in college and spent one year in Sweden as an exchange student; where she met her husband, Niclas, to whom she has been married since 1987 and with whom she has twins Adam and Emma, 2020 college graduates.
Over the years, moving from place to place around Sweden and the USA with Niclas' employment at Ford Motor Co., Amy has worked various interesting jobs in mainly academic or legal settings. As the Experiential Education Specialist in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, Amy has now officially worked in academics in some capacity with every age group from pre-school to advanced university degree.
