Dr. McIntosh is the Dean of the College of Education and Professor of Education. She currently holds a permanent teaching license and Assistant Superintendent license for the state of Ohio. Julie McIntosh has taught courses in the College of Education in Classroom Management, Early Childhood Science Methods, Ecosystems and Society, Capstone and AYA Science Methods. Professor McIntosh has worked for The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Bowling Green High School, Findlay High School, and Bowling Green State University before coming to The University of Findlay. Dr. McIntosh has been a member of the National Staff Development Council Academy, The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education Leadership Academy and the Council of Independent Colleges Senior Leadership Academy. Dr. McIntosh has been a program reviewer for the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) and a peer reviewer for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Julie is a member of the Association for the Education of Teachers of Science, National Association for Research in Science Education, Ohio Association of Teacher Educators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, National Science Teacher Association, Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, Sigma Xi, Society for College Science Teachers, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Delta Kappa.
She is a program reviewer for the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) and a site visitor for Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Dr. McIntosh has been a member of the Dean’s Council of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), Ohio Department of Higher Education Academic Quality Assurance and Collaboration Program Review Committee, Ohio Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (OACTE) Board, Owens Community College Advisory Board, Findlay Digital Academy Board, Findlay Hancock County Library Board, Hope House Board, Findlay Rotary Board, and The University of Findlay Board of Governors. She has served as the President of the Findlay Rotary Club, OACTE, Ohio Association of Private Colleges of Teacher Education, Hope House, UF Board of Governors, Findlay Digital Academy.
Dr. McIntosh has received the James D. and Judith L. Philipp Award of Excellence for The College of Education, Project Learning Tree Ohio Outstanding Educator Award, The University of Findlay Distinguished Alumni Award, Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District Conservation Teacher of the Year, and The University of Findlay Old Main Award.
