Louis Stulman is Professor of Religious Studies. He earned the M.Phil and Ph.D in Hebrew Bible from Drew University and has done post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan. Dr. Stulman's research interests focus on the Hebrew Bible and the Prophets in particular.
He has written and edited numerous books, including The Prose Sermons of Jeremiah, Order Amid Chaos, Troubling Jeremiah, Abingdon Old Testament Commentary on Jeremiah, and You are My People: An Introduction to Prophetic Literature.
Professor Stulman's awards for teaching include the "Outstanding Educator," "Founder's Academic Excellence Award for Faculty," and "Excellence in Education" (Ohio Magazine).
Stulman has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Biblical Literature; he is general Old Testament editor of the Core Bible Studies Series (Abingdon) and has contributed to Feasting on the Word (WJK), the New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, and the Common English Study Bible. He is the 2014-15 President of the Eastern Great Lakes Biblical Society.
In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Stulman enjoys hiking, cycling, almost every genre of music and film, and spending time with friends and family. Many years ago, he played guitar for the Star Sapphires and the Primes, a soul band in Baltimore.
