Fukui Prefectural University (FPU) Exchange
Get a global perspective on nursing by studying in Japan!
It is a common misconception that rigorous academic programs leave no time for the classic college experience of studying abroad. At Findlay, nursing students do not have to sacrifice graduating on time in order to experience cultural diversity abroad. Through the Fukui Prefectural University (FPU) Exchange, they have the opportunity to study material relevant to their future profession on an international scale. The University of Findlay's partnership with FPU in Japan states that FPU will send one non-nursing student to the University of Findlay for one full year at no cost to the student, and in exchange, Findlay will send one instructor and up to six nursing students to FPU for three weeks in the summer.
Program details:
- Open to all nursing students
- Three week experience during the summer
- Attend nursing classes, labs, and meetings
- Provide presentation to FPU students and faculty
- Past groups have visited hospitals, nursing homes, an elementary school, and participated in a nursing symposium.
