Academic Events

Every spring, Academic Affairs sponsors the Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity.  Scheduled in April every year, the “Symposium” features UF’s best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students sharing their research, creativity and professional learning experiences.  In addition to student displays and presentations, the event features an alumni speaker from each college and a student art show.

Intensive English Language Program

The Office of Academic Affairs offers the IELP Advantage Program for non-native speakers of English who choose to study the English language and American life at the University of Findlay.

Founders’ Sons and Daughters Awards

University of Findlay’s Founders’ Award is annually conferred upon two students who most exemplify the ideals of the founding fathers. Those ideals include high achievement in scholarship, leadership, service to others, and demonstrated personal integrity in and out of the classroom.

Recipients are recognized during the Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity awards ceremony in the spring. Each recipient is awarded a framed certificate and $1,000.

Criteria:
Students must have enough credits to be considered a senior, a GPA of 3.0 or higher and should be actively involved on campus.

Nomination Process:
Nominations are submitted by faculty and staff to the Office of Student Affairs, which reviews all nominations and carefully examines each student’s academic and extra-curricular involvement on campus to determine by vote which student receives the award each year.
