Day One
An Introduction to the Series (Eileen Rucki)
Day One - Introduction to the Series is the first of UF’s International night, 2021 five-part series and is hosted by Eileen Rucki, Director of International Education.
A 50+ year tradition, UF's historic International Night Festival has gone virtual for 2021 and is being offered as a five-part pre-recorded video series. This format provides viewers the opportunity for a more personal, intimate experience and a chance to get-to-know some of UF's international students, their traditions, and aspects of their culture. Be sure to view each day of the five-part series.

Day Five
Day Five: Belgium, Japan and Pastry from Iran (hosted by Sadia Aurna)
Day Five is the fifth and final day of UF’s International Night, 2021 five-part series and is hosted by a familiar face, Sadia Aurna (Bangladesh). Day 5 introduces UF students from Belgium and Japan, provides a presentation on Satoyama, Japan and offers a demonstration of the preparation of a popular pastry in Iran. Virtual International Night, 2021 Conclusion (Eileen Rucki)
International Night has been a long-standing tradition at UF. This family-friendly intercultural celebration with a festival atmosphere has historically featured students and student groups from around the globe sharing their culture and country with the campus and community. Delicious traditional food, cultural information, artifacts, activities, crafts, music, dancing, and entertainment have been showcased.
Free and open to the public, this celebration has long been one of the most popular and anticipated annual campus offerings. Over the past 52 years, thousands of attendees have enjoyed the opportunity to partake in the cuisine from countries ranging from Austria to Zambia, observed traditional song and dance performances and taken part in a variety of fun, educational activities.
For 2021, Covid-19 pandemic restrictions require that this event be moved to a virtual format. While we cannot talk, learn and share face-to-face, we are happy to provide our international students the opportunity to proudly represent themselves and their chosen aspects of culture, heritage and tradition.
We hope you have enjoyed this year's International Night, 2021, Five-Part Video Series as a unique opportunity to get to know some of our UF international studens on a more personal level. These connections are intended to help broaden awareness and understanding as we work to build a more cohesive global community. We invite you to come back and continue to engage, learn and growth with us.
