    Dr. Brasfield received his Ph.D. in Educational Research Methodology from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in 2014, where his dissertation examined the differences in teacher effectiveness classification across multiple methods of evaluation. Previously, he was an evaluation specialist in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and Wake County Schools (Raleigh) in North Carolina, and as a Coordinator of Research Projects for the North Carolina Community College System Office. Before that, he was a high school counselor in Winston-Salem, NC and earned his M.A. in Counseling from Wake Forest University.
  • His primary research interests are teacher evaluation – specifically value-added modeling and standards-based observation. He also has a strong interest in the roles of counselors and librarians in school settings. At UF, Dr. Brasfield teaches the research sequence of courses in the Ed.D. program.
