    Dr. Gillham came to the University of Findlay in 2015. He teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels including EDUC 265 Human Growth and Development, EDFI 520 Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, EDUC 701 Orientation to Doctoral Study, and EDUC 703 Policy Analysis. Dr. Gillham serves as the Chair of the University of Findlay's Doctorate of Education Program. 

    Dr. Gillham has more than twenty-five years of experience in K-12 and higher education. For eighteen years he served in public and private schools as a Social Studies teacher and administrator. During this time he also prepared teacher candidates for standardized teaching tests, which sparked his interest in teacher assessment. For eleven years Dr. Gillham worked with California’s new teacher induction program (BTSA Induction) as a mentor, district leader, and coordinator of the program across Los Angeles County at the L. A. County Office of Education, the nation's largest regional education agency. As a School Improvement Coordinator at the Orange County Department of Education, Dr. Gillham coached Title One schools in Program Improvement under No Child Left Behind. 

    Dr. Gillham holds a Bachelor Degree in History from San Diego State University, a teaching credential from California State University Fullerton, and a Masters of Educational Administration from Pepperdine University. He earned his doctorate (Ed.D) in the Organizational Leadership program at Pepperdine University, named one of the top 15 Organizational Leadership programs in the world by The Journal of Academic Excellence.

    Prior to coming to The University of Findlay, Dr. Gillham taught in the Masters of Education Program at Concordia University Irvine and in the Teacher Education Program at Ohio Northern University. While at Ohio Northern University Dr. Gillham also served as the Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences which gave him primary responsibility for the academic programs of the eighteen departments and fifty majors in the college. Students in the college awarded Dr. Gillham the Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award and the faculty elected him President Pro Tempore of the Faculty.

    Dr. Gillham’s research interests include teacher induction and evaluation and online doctoral programs.

    In his free time, Dr. Gillham enjoys running, cycling, traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
