The Master of Occupational Therapy is a two and a half-year program that begins each spring and includes six months of full-time fieldwork. The MOT program is intended for the adult learner who has completed a bachelor's degree. It is preferred, but not necessary, that a candidate has healthcare experience.
Master of Occupational Therapy Hybrid Program
The MOT hybrid format allows individuals with busy lives, jobs, and families to pursue a graduate degree.
Curriculum Information
The MOT program is a post-baccalaureate program that is completed in two and a half-years and will provide you with maximum preparation and career flexibility. With four modules per academic year; the hybrid courses are designed for students to complete guided work off-campus with on-campus meetings that are typically scheduled on select weekends during each module. This unique program structure allows individuals with busy lives and jobs to commute and pursue a graduate degree. The program includes:
- 63 academic course credits
- 3 Level l Fieldwork credits (120 hours)
- 12 Level ll Fieldwork credits (960 hours)
Degree Completion

Admission Requirements
Admission requirements can be found by clicking the Application Process button below. Admission requirements are the same for all applicants, regardless of whether the applicant has a COTA or PTA degree. However, healthcare experience is preferred and will be assessed in the application review process.
Experiential Learning
University of Findlay's Occupational Therapy Program makes experiential learning a priority. Students will "learn by doing" in a variety of settings. With curriculum focused on community outreach and fieldwork, OT students have many opportunities to practice what they learn in the classroom in real life scenarios. The program also has an adaptive living house that allows students to learn and practice occupational therapy techniques. Master of Occupational Therapy Program Accreditation
The entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
