Student Health Insurance

University of Findlay (UF) cares about the health and well-being of its students, particularly in the current public health environment. All full-time students (9 credit hours for graduate and 12 credit hours for undergraduate), and health professions students without regard to course load*, are required to enroll in the student health insurance plan unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.

*Click here to review a full list of health professions related programs that the student health insurance requirement applies to without regard to the number of credit hours.
UF has contracted with United Healthcare StudentResources (UHCSR) to provide an insurance policy for students who lack valid coverage. The University requires students to annually enroll or waive coverage. In order to waive the University of Findlay Student Insurance Plan, and have the related charge removed from their billing statement, students’ alternate coverage must:
  • Satisfy Ohio and Federal (Affordable Care Act) minimum benefit requirements, and
  • Be in effect for the full period for which they will attend classes during the 2024-25 school year, and
  • Be locally effective (out-of-state Medicaid is not valid coverage), and
  • Be underwritten by a U.S. Domestic insurance carrier (a carrier that is based, licensed & operating in the U.S.).

The enrollment & waiver period for Fall 2024 closed on August 28, 2024. Questions may be directed to [email protected].
